The First Of the Year♥

As everyone knows, it is the beginning of a brand new year. This year, hopefully will be the new beginning of my life. And I'm very determined to make it just that. I have been exploring the internet quite often to try to find a website that could help me loose the weight I need to, but is also free, and I have found a website called myhomepersonaltrainer.com for absoutely no charge. It doesn't even ask for a credit card, and so far, I'm diggin it. My birthday is coming up on friday, and although I'm not excited for personal reasons, I'm dedicated to stick to my plan. This is going to be the hardest thing I will probably ever do with myself, but if I can accomplish this in the time I set for myself, That will give me the confidence to overcome anything. I'm ready for this to be the biggest year of my life. And after watching the MTV show "I Used to be Fat" it inspired me that I can do this. So get ready.

  4. I just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed reading your blog. Everyone has their own unique struggle and it's refreshing to know we are not alone.
Over the past 6 years I struggled with smoking. I would always quit, but eventually start again. It got to the point I didn't think I was capable of cutting the habit, but eventually I did and am going on a year now. I still struggle, but I'm so glad I kept trying.
Keep going girl, I'm cheering for you!

  5. You are very brave and strong. And you CAN DO IT! It might be helpful to take some photos along the way to remind yourself of where you started and how far you have come. I, too, have started a weight loss program today. I am not a teenager but can relate to a lot of the things you go thru. Keep it up......you will succeed!!

  6. I lost about 35 lbs. last year and the best website/books I found were the Hungry Girl books. I was able to make food that everyone in the family would eat and not complain about. Take a look at her website Hungry-Girl.com

Good luck!!! You can do anything you set your mind to!

  8. I just read your story on 9News. I'm not quite sure if you live in the Denver area but if so, I would like to offer you any assistance I can with your fitness program. I'm a personal trainer in Denver and run my own small business. I keep a busy schedule and have limited availability. That being said, I'm not quite sure what I might be able to offer you. However, if you're interested and we're able to work something out whether it's in person, over the phone, via email, etc, I would be more than happy to help in any way I can free of charge. You can contact me at annie@fit-denver.com or take a look at www.fit-denver.com for more info.
Thank you for inspiring many people, myself included. - Annie

  9. Just read the news article and joined your Blog. I also am creating a weight loss Blog. I am not a teen, I am a grandma who works with teens. You CAN do this, as can I. I will follow your blog as inspiration, when I get mine set up, I will tell you the name of mine. Perhaps we can help one another. I could lose 90 pounds, but have decided to start with 50. I am 51, (oh my gosh... HOW did I get to be 51????)

  10. Go girl go!!! There are a lot of us out there, in all different age groups, needing to lose a few (or lots of fews!) who read your story on 9news and can relate and cheer you, and ourselves, on. Look how much support this story has gathered already!

This is a new year. There will be new struggles and new triumphs. But through it all, there is new hope.

Best to you on this journey.

  11. Just found your blog through 9 news.

You have inspired me to take responsibility and start tracking my calories and logging my exercise with a goal of losing about 40 lbs.

Found a great site that also has an iphone app to make tracking easier called MyFitnessPal.

Just know there are a lot of people out there with the same struggles and know that we are cheering you on!

  12. Good for you! It's great what you are doing for yourself and what your family's doing with you. One additional thing that might help you do this for a lifelong lifestyle is to make sure you aren't having problems with depression. Depression saps your desire to take care of yourself, so it makes it harder to make good choices of food or exercise. Don't want you to end up like me - just had my 65th birthday. I'm 5'8 and 313 pounds, with type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Not fun!

  14. Your blog and story are inspiring. My wife dealt with the same issues you are dealing with, when she was a teen. When she was in her 30's she was diagnosed with PCOS. It turns out her weight gain and hard time to lose weight were partially caused by hormones. It may be worth checking out. The more she learned, she changed what she ate, and it made all the difference in the world to help the weightloss. I'm not a doctor, but it may be worth checking out.

This may be part of it, as my wife's issues started in her teens. Good Luck. We are pulling for you.

    A Friend.

  16. You go girl! One day at a time. I am starting a new journey in my weight loss struggle too. I think you are going to help so many with your blog. This is a life long process that I should have taken seriously when I was your age. It only gets harder the older you get. So, I say good for you. I will follow your progress through your blog. Best wishes for a healthy 2011.

  17. What a fantastic motivator! I am a 38 year old woman that is struggling with my weight. I have a 16 year old daughter that is in your same situation. The only difference is, the girls and boys at her school are not kind to her.

I wish you lots of luck and strength. As you said, this is not going to be easy, but you can do it!

Keep it up! I will follow your progress closely!

  18. Your a true inspiration and you can do this, I am going to do it right along with you. I too have set a goal for the year! I was always the "fat girl" growing up and can completely relate. I promise you that if you get a jump on this now, it is much easier then after your 30, like me.

I can't wait to continue to follow your progress and share mine with you! When you set your mind to something you can do anything. Stick with it, don't get frustrated and you will reach your goal!!!

I lost 60 pounds last year and you can do this too, don't give up and don't let anyone tell you that you can't. You are beautiful on the inside and I'm sure on the outside too. Do this for no one but YOU, LOVE YOURSELF, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, TRUST YOURSELF... You can and will succeed!!! I know you can!!! Keep smiling!!!

  20. I saw your story on 9news and I think what your doing is pretty awesome =) I'm trying to lose weight myself and I can tell you that the most help I've found was by blogging. Not on a public blog though, theres a site at http://teens.sparkpeople.com/ that has helped me a lot since they have anything that can help you on there and they don't call it a diet, they call it a Lifestyle Change which in my opinion is a lot better =)

    Good Luck!!!
    Nikki
