What happened to the last 4 years? Where did the time go? Something that was once such a huge part of my life, just gets forgotten and left by the wayside. I stopped writing in this blog, for reasons I can't remember. But to look back and see all of the inspirational comments and to even look back and see myself as I was four years ago, things are so different now. Unfortunately, I wish that meant that things were different in the ways that I have taken better care of myself, but alas, that is not the case. I'm now thirty pounds heavier than I was 4 years ago, but for some odd reason, I thought back to this blog that I started. It could partially be because I am on a new weight loss journey, and registered myself for my first 5k happening on January 1, 2016; But to see all the support that was given to me four years ago, it just breaks my heart that I gave up back then. It makes me wonder how different things would have been if I didn't. I'm not sure anyone even still follows this anymore, given that it's been so long since I've last written, but if anyone is still there, I will try to keep up with this as far as my new plan to revitalize myself. I have 6 months exactly to get myself in shape to run 3.1 miles, and I have my own wedding to attend 6 months after that. There will always be reasons to better myself and loose all the weight I have held since I was a child, but on the flip side, there will always be reasons to start tomorrow. As I said before, it's not going to be easy, but it's going to be worth it.
Reading the comments that such generous people put over 4 years ago has melted my heart once again. It is astonishing to see the out pour of support and love from people who don't even know who I am. Even if no one continues to read this, and even if I don't continue to write, I will always look back on those comments when I need a pick me up. If anyone is still reading, thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. So many years later, your words still mean so much to me.
Let's try this again. Although I'm not sure I can keep the name "Blog of an Overweight Teen" considering I'm 20 years old now...

Fifth Post of 2011♥
It has been a lot harder to go for my walks everyday when it is -9 degrees outside! However the past few days it has been a little bit warmer, so I have been going for walks for about 30 minutes. I'm so far keeping up with the steamed broccoli for a snack everyday, and I can tell it has been paying off. I had to purchase a dress for a special occasion coming up, and I went from a size 18 dress to a size 12! I couldn't believe it when I tried it on, I was simply stunned. I don't know how many pounds I have lost, considering I haven't had a kaiser appointment, but it was great to see the results of my choices.
A good tip for getting that still needed exercise even when it's as cold as it has been, is to do exercise on the Wii, or whatever game console you or your kids possess. For the past week I have been doing a dance workout along with boxing, and I was having the time of my life. I just couldn't get enough. I also purchased the Shakeweight, and it is REMARKABLE. I only do it for 6 minutes every day, and I'm already seeing somewhat of a result after a week! I'm almost positive it is on sale at Wallgreens or Target for $20.00, and if you have the time, I would no doubt stop by to pick one up. It's more of a workout then it seems, but the results blew me away.
As for getting in a different mind set, if you mind has been in the dump lately, along with mine, I have two suggestions for you. One, go on more walks. When I was feeling down and depressed, I went on one walk, and it didn't do a single thing for me. But then I started going on two walks a day, and even occasionally three, and by the end of my 2nd or 3rd walk, I was feeling brand new. However, it is Colorado, and the weather can sometimes play tricks on us, so my second suggestion is to read the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. After hearing so much about it, I decided to pick up a copy at Barnes and Noble (my all-time FAVORITE book store) and as soon as I read the first chapter, my mind set was completely different. All that was popping out of my thought process was positive things. It put me in such a better mood, as well as lifted my spirits. So I would definitely recommend picking one up. I will try to put some quotes from the book at the bottom of every post, just to show you how enlightening it can be. So even though the weather is crappy, Cheer up, and don't forget to set out the celery and peanut butter for the Superbowl!:)

Fourth Post of 2011♥
My appointment at Kaiser went well. I have lost a total of 1 pound, which is a lot less than I was hoping, but it better than gaining a pound. I recently read all of the comments on the 9news article, and although a few people had to express their "problem" with me being fat and trying to change it, actually amused me. I was laughing the entire time I was reading those. However, the comments from the people cheering me on, THANK YOU SO MUCH. It's things like that, that keep me going on this hard, but worthwhile journey. I appreciate every single on of your comments. So much.
Anyway, I purchased a Shake weight at Target yesterday, after seeing in an article that they were on sale for $20, and let me just tell you, it was well worth it! That gave me the best workout my arms have ever had, even better than lifting weights! I have been making healthier choices, such as eating steamed broccoli, which is my absolute FAVORITE, for a snack after school, rather than chips, cookies, etc. As well as fitting in breakfast as much as I can, at the request of my AMAZING dietitian Stephanie Hancock. She has probably been one of the nicest people I have ever met. If you are having trouble with weight, or would like a chance to change your lifestyle, GO SEE STEPHANIE. or take one of her worthwhile classes, over at the Kaiser on Alameda. She is such a blessing, and will do everything in her power to help you.
Many other good things have made their way into my life, along with this new year. My attitude has been better, due to my choices, and life doesn't seem so bad, when bad isn't the only emotion you feel. Another tip I have for the week, is to keep track of a food journal. Write down everything you eat and drink in a day (yes, even the bad things) and look back and try to find a pattern. If you realize all that you intake, it might want to make you change everything you eat on a day to day basis. I've been doing it for a couple days now, and when I am fully aware of everything I am eating and drinking, it makes me stop and think about it before I eat it.
None of the things I am doing are making loosing weight any easier, however, when I picture myself skinny, it makes me want to do everything in my power to achieve my goal. And I know I mention it almost every post, but watch the MTV show "I used to be fat". I watch every single episode, and It completely inspires me to the point of tears every time. As for the people that continue to read my blog, if there is any way I could get a hold of a way to contact the first girl on " I used to be fat", Gabby, I would be so appreciative. She has been in the back of my mind, as well as my inspiration for everything so far. And I would like to let her know how much she has affected me. Please, and thank you. Have a great week!♥

Third Post of 2011♥
How's everyone enjoying their new year? Mine's been oddly different. Lately I haven't been eating much at all. Not because I'm trying to go "anorexic", because just the thought of that grosses me out. But because I haven't had an appetite. Of course I force myself to eat everyday, even if it is some celery and peanut butter. This new year has brought much change to me. Including getting out for more exercise. Even though it has snowed the past few days, that hasn't stopped me from getting a walk or two in everyday. Even if it is without taking my dog, due to the pulling and slipping. I haven't had a chance to weigh myself, just because I don't seem to have a scale throughout my entire house, but I have an appointment with my dietition at Kaiser Permanente, and hopefully it will show i've lost a few pounds since my last visit.
I really appreciate all the supporting comments on here. Whenever I'm havin a rough day, or don't feel the motivation, reading those comments help tremendously. It's hard to loose the weight you've always had, no doubt. But it's not impossible. I'm ready for this change, and when you know your ready, that makes more motivation to do it. As for your tip of the week, I guess, keep busy. Whatever your doing, whether it is reading, walking, or something like cleaning, KEEP BUSY. If your busy, you don't have as much time to sit around and eat because your bored. It's a good tip, however, it's much easier said than it is done.

Second Post of 2011♥
WOW! All of those comments basically melted my heart. Thank all of you so much. Those comments really gave me a lot of initiative and motivation to keep this going, and work on myself harder than I have been. Every single one of those comments posted by all of you made my entire day, so thank you. I appreciate them.
Lately I have been taking my dog for walks of about 20 minutes, everyday. This gives me a good chance to get out of the house for a little while, and give my dog the exercise she only dreams about. Although there is so much snow and ice on the ground, it's hard to keep my balance with the tugging and pulling of my oh-so determined puppy, the walk is worth it. It's not just walking around the block, however, it does have a lot to do with getting my heart rate going, and occasionally breaking a sweat. Being on winter break from school, I do have a lot of time on my hands, and don't always stick to the usual times to have meals. I did have breakfast today though, which was a major plus. And I managed to pick up some Special K protein bars, as well as berry cereal. I have been eating fruit on a regular basis, which helps me get some energy. Although I wasn't out of the house much today, I did focus on a full clean of my room, and finishing all the laundry. Both chores kept me busy for most of the day.
My birthday is coming up at the end of the week, but that gives me no excuse to pig out. I have planned to have turkey, along with my favorite sides of baked potatos and tuna fish salad for my birthday dinner with my family. And I was never a big fan of cake, so that won't be an issue.
Ever since I have watched the show "I used to be fat" I have not been able to get that girl, Gabby, out of my head. Her and I are almost exactly in the same situation. I need to loose the same exact pounds as she did, and although she only had 111 day's to loose 90 pounds, she accomplished her goal, and by the end of the show, she was absolutely glowing. Not only had she lost the weight, but she also managed to put more effort into a lot of the things she did, even when she didn't have the full support of her family. That was probably the most inspiring show I have ever watched. If she can do that in 111 days, why can't I do it in 231? that's more than double her time. So I know that I can do this. And getting my license in a few months will help just as much. I have more motivation now, than ever before. This is gunna be a huge year for me, and I am so ready for it. I appreciate all of the offers, and other blogs shown to me through the comments, and I will no doubt be following them. Again, thank you all so much. You have no idea how much it means to me.

The First Of the Year♥
As everyone knows, it is the beginning of a brand new year. This year, hopefully will be the new beginning of my life. And I'm very determined to make it just that. I have been exploring the internet quite often to try to find a website that could help me loose the weight I need to, but is also free, and I have found a website called myhomepersonaltrainer.com for absoutely no charge. It doesn't even ask for a credit card, and so far, I'm diggin it. My birthday is coming up on friday, and although I'm not excited for personal reasons, I'm dedicated to stick to my plan. This is going to be the hardest thing I will probably ever do with myself, but if I can accomplish this in the time I set for myself, That will give me the confidence to overcome anything. I'm ready for this to be the biggest year of my life. And after watching the MTV show "I Used to be Fat" it inspired me that I can do this. So get ready.

It's almost Christmas time♥
It's almost time for the presents to be opened, and the family to come together, which just so happens to be my favorite time of year! Not only because of the huge feast and presents, but because I get to see my insane family all gathered into one room. Hopefully this season will be a good one, following with my birthday soon after. I've been making some pretty good choices lately. My family and I took a trip to a hotel last night to stay the night, just for fun, and I ordered roasted chicken instead of my notorious chicken fingers. As well as veggie's instead of fries. And this morning for breakfast, I had amazing scrambled eggs and cooked ham. It was great. And so far I've had a lot of energy! Oh! and I forgot to mention the four hours of swimming last night, and waking up at 4:30 A.M. to go work out in the gym at the hotel for an hour, followed by 2 more hours of swimming. I can't say I'm not completely exhausted and sore, because I totally am, but I think it was well worth it.
I haven't been feeling to great emotion wise, just because my social life has pretty much been really crappy, followed by some really sucky "friends". But i'll make it out okay. I've been doing a lot better than I expected before the first, which is a good thing, but I think I will start taking my dog for walks at night now, just because I love walking at night. But it's hard to keep motivation these days. Especially with dealing with so much. It makes it that much harder. But you just gotta push through and know that things will be so much better once your at the place that you want to be.
